Wal-Mart stores, Donates a $300,000 to The National Hispana Leadership Institute. Donation will Support Leadership and Development Programs for Latina Women
Hispanic PR - Wal-Mart Stores, will donate $300,000 to The National Hispana Leadership Institute’s (NHLI) over the next three years. NHLI will use the grant to expand the organization’s three leadership programs including, the Executive Leadership Program for Latinas, the Latinas Learning to Lead Youth Program, and the Young Professional Leadership Program.
“At Wal-Mart, we are committed to giving back to the communities we serve,” said Susan Chambers, vice president of People Division at Wal-Mart, Stores, Inc. and chair of the NHLI corporate advisory council. “NHLI programs have directly impacted thousands of women from over 28 states across the country. The donation is a reflection and an extension of our support of women not only within the walls of our organization, but beyond.”
As one of the largest private employers of Hispanics in the nation, Wal-Mart will also be part of the NHLI Vision Forward: Growing Latina Leaders, a two-year capacity building campaign directed at raising $3 million to enhance existing programs and increase the number of Hispanic women who participate in its professional development programs.
