HISPANIC PR WIRE--LATINA Style Magazine, the premier magazine addressing the needs of the Latina professionals in the U.S., with the participation of the U.S. Small Business Administration, returns to Houston to host the 2006 LATINA Style Business Series on Friday, July 21, 2006 at the Doubletree Hotel Houston Downtown (400 Dallas St.).
The LATINA Style Business Series is the most successful business development conference that seeks to empower Latina professionals and business owners by bringing them together with key corporations and agencies that provide goods, services and essential information most needed by today’s entrepreneur.
The Business Series starts at 8:00 AM and concludes at 4:00 PM. The event includes exhibits and expert presenters from sponsors American Airlines, Cingular, ExxonMobil, McDonald’s, Principal Financial, State Farm Insurance, Wal-Mart and Wells Fargo along with local authors and artists.
The Mistress of Ceremony, Ms. Minerva Perez, Anchor, ABC 13 will introduce keynote speaker Ms. Chiqui Cartagena, media pioneer with 20 years of experience creating, contributing to and successfully launching some of America’s Spanish-language products. During the luncheon she will share with the audience understanding the Latino boom, based on her book Latino Boom: Everything you need to Know to Grow your business in the US Hispanic Market. At the end of the luncheon, Ms. Judy Camarena, President, Taquerias Arandas will be presented with the 2006 Houston LATINA Style entrepreneur award for exemplary leadership as an entrepreneur and dedication in the community.
Following the luncheon, Ms. Paula Mendoza, President, Possible Missions will moderate the “Latina Entrepreneur Panel: Lessons Learned.” The three entrepreneurs featured on the panel are: Arcilia Carrasco-Acosta, President, CARCON Industries; Judy Camarena, President, Taquerias Arandas; and M. Caroline Weitzman, President, Natex Corporation.
