(PRWEB) January 23, 2005 -- After numerous successful collaborations, The History Channel returned once again to Hispanic-owned ZONA Design, Inc. for their network design expertise. For The History Channel en español™, the new 24-hour television network dedicated to the important and growing Spanish-speaking audience in the U.S., ZONA created a network launch package which includes a network logo, promotion and line-up packages, image spots (one :60, one :45, and two :30s), an ID package (four :20s and four :10s), and four interstitial openings.

The History Channel en español, which began airing in June, presents a wide range of Spanish-language programming, including documentary specials and series reflecting historical topics, focusing on great dramatic moments and events, as well as the pivotal figures in history. The channel will highlight both world and Latin American history.

For the new Spanish-language service, ZONA Design, the New York-based motion design studio, created on air package with a distinct Hispanic flavor. “The ZONA team and I created a package that exudes a Latin energy. Although we kept the spirit of The History Channel, we shifted and expanded the color branding utilizing warm tones - café con leche, ocean blue, emerald - and created animations using language and a design based on the chambered nautilus that represents time, travel and creates a distinct personality for the new channel,” explained ZONA Creative Director Zoa Martinez. ”The animations resolve naturally to a customized typographic treatment. How much more Hispanic can you get then when a Latina herself – me! - designs and hand writes ‘en español’ for The History Channel logo,” she added

"For The History Channel en español™ there was only one choice, ZONA Design. Zoa knows this market. It is in her blood, “ said Timothy Nolan, Director Special Projects, Consumer Marketing, The History Channel. “ZONA has worked with us on many projects in the past – the relaunch of History International network, Military History, Reign of Terror, and American Classics, among others. Zoa always comes up with a unique marketing and branding solution for our network whether she’s creating images for the general or Hispanic market.”

In addition to Director/Creative Director Zoa Martinez, ZONA’s seasoned team, known for their distinctive and effective designs, included Executive Producer Dennis Fluet; Designers Mark Lee, Agnes Nowakowska and Christian Acker; Composite Artist/Motion Art Director Fabien Leon; Composite Artists Carlos Molina, Keith Yin Yan, Rob Sabatini and Supara Sophunwasu. ZONA utilized ADOBE After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop in the execution of this project.

The History Channel en español was represented by Timothy Nolan, Director Special Projects The History Channel Consumer Marketing.
