Publix Supermarket Spanish Food Line
Notimex - Miami, U.S., Hispanic flavors and aromas flood U.S. market, to the point that one of the largest supermarket chains, Publix, has decided to have its own brand of beans, marinated mojito, yucca packs and platanitos.
Publix, with presence in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee, plans to reach the Hispanic market, that has become a big slice of the pie that investors look forward to get, considered analysts.
According to official information, in 2004 the number of Hispanics reached 43.4 millions with an annual purchasing power of 575 thousand million dollars, according to Synovate Diversity of Miami. The market's segment of food and drink among Hispanics calculates in 4.3 billion dollars.
Publix is in the ninth position by the publication Supermarket News in its list of the 75 most important companies of the country, but its civil employees say it?s the one with the fastest growth.
The company, that reported sales by 16,8 billion dollars last year and at the present time has 849 stores, is one of the first in the south east in adding Hispanic food produced by its own brand. NTX
