Los Angeles, CA--(HISPANIC PR WIRE - BUSINESS WIRE)--July 9, 2004--On Wednesday, July 7, 2004, approximately 100 people turned out to an invitation-only celebration to commemorate the opening of the newest Pollo Campero restaurant. Attendance included Rene Leon Rodriguez, U.S. ambassador to El Salvador; Mario Marin, executive director for Economic Development, City of Los Angeles representing the Honorable Mayor James Hahn; David Broome, special assistant representing Speaker Emeritus of the California State Assembly Herb Wesson, Jr.; and Councilman Bernard Parks.
When asked what it meant to have such an impressive list of attendees, Jose J. Cofino, president and COO of Adir Restaurants Corp. dba Pollo Campero replied, "Their show of support for Pollo Campero opening in this neighborhood has been nothing less than astounding."
Councilman Parks along with Mayor Hahn's representative presented the Pollo Campero management with a congratulatory certificate acknowledging the positive impact such an establishment will have on this neighborhood including boosting the local economy and providing job opportunities. As well, Herb Wesson, Jr.'s representative presented a similar certificate of appreciation for Pollo Campero's investment into the Chesterfield Square location.
Others who attended include Roberto Denegri, president of Campero USA; Ron Azarkman, co-owner/CEO, Adir Restaurants Corp. dba Pollo Campero; and Jerry Azarkman, co-owner of Adir Restaurants Corp. dba Pollo Campero.
Pollito, Pollo Campero's official mascot, assisted with the actual ribbon cutting and posed for pictures. Guests enjoyed a selection of Pollo Campero food, cake, champagne and live entertainment.
