Hispanic Publishers Support Alberto Gonzales
Washington, DC -—(HISPANIC PR WIRE) The National Association of Hispanic Publications, NAHP, Inc. declared today its support for the recent nomination of Judge Alberto Gonzales to be the next Attorney General of the United States. If confirmed, Gonzales would be the first Hispanic to hold that post in the history of the U.S.
Currently, Judge Gonzales serves as Counsel to the President. In this capacity, he advises the President on all legal matters in regards to the President and the White House. His duties also include legal oversight on policy, judicial nominations and any lawsuits brought against the President.
Before being commissioned to be Counsel to the President in 2001, he served as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Texas from 1999 until 2001 and also was Texas’ 100th Secretary of State from 1997 – 1999.

Judge Gonzales was born in San Antonio, Texas but raised in Houston. He holds degrees from Rice University and Harvard Law School. Gonzales has also served in the United States Air Force and attended the United States Air Force Academy.
